of them awarded for their contribution towards this. Kharkiv evacuated the
building to Kazan at that period. After
the liberation of the city, the institute returned to its motherly area
Kharkiv. The reconstruction of destroyed building took 8 long years. However;
the institute continued to grow and increase its branches improved the learning
system, created new departments and expansion of research programs. In late 40s KHAI conducted first punching explosion. In 1953, KHAI initialed its work towards
jet burner for rock drilling and built wind tunnel. KhAI also expanded its work
