The Origin of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in the
commonwealth countries goes back even before the arrival of the Airplane and
space craft. The Royal Engineers undergo specialized training for the safe
maintenance and operation of an Aircraft. The inspection and Approval of the
maintenance work was carried out by the qualified Royal Engineers. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for a safe and a secured Aircraft
operation. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer conducts inspections and makes
upgrades to an Aircraft. Daily duties include scheduled maintenance,
inspections, emergency repairs and maintaining records of all activities.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineers work with equipments such as x-ray
machines, diagnostic equipments, power tools and computers. Work conditions
involve working on scaffolds, ladders and working on emergency repairs. The
Aircraft Maintenance Engineers have to carefully follow the rules and
regulations while performing any job duty. Now-a-days the Aviation sector is
growing at a rapid pace. New air routes are being opened and new aircrafts are
being deployed. During the training schedule, a lesson is imparted for
maintenance and service of aircraft and ensures flight safety. At the Institute
of Aviation Engineering and Technology, those students who have passed the
higher secondary examinations with 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics are eligible for the degree courses in the Aircraft Engineering.
Many flying clubs have training institutes attached to them, but
there are only a few institutes which offer specialized training in Aerospace
Engineering. Among those Institutes, the Institute of Aviation Engineering and
Technology in Ukraine offers reliable degree courses in Aeronautical
Engineering. The Degree course cover topics like-
- Flight Aerodynamics
- Jet Engineering
- Workshop Technology
- Metallurgy/ Electricity
Specialized training in
sophisticated Appliance Maintenance-
- Aviation direction finder
- Radio Equipment
- Radial Engines
- Gyroscopic Instruments

While these courses include instruction on the maintenance of an
aircraft, main emphasis was made on the design and development of military and
commercial aircrafts. Those who successfully complete the training program and
obtain a commercial pilot license are eligible to get jobs in leading Aircraft
Manufacturing firms with an attractive salary package. The Bachelor degree of
Science in Aircraft Engineering can be completed in four years of full time
study.
Students who have completed their Associate’s Degree programs can
apply for an entry level job in Aircraft maintenance industry. The Institute of Aviation Engineering and Technology which is the most popular institute in
Ukraine offers an affordable degree course program in Aerospace Engineering. It
also offers campus placement opportunities to its successful candidates.
Graduates can jump into the field with one of these positions-
- Avionics Technician
- Assistant Aircraft Technician
- Power plant Maintenance Technician.
